Serving as New York City’s Deputy Mayor for Community Development and Business Services from 1996 to 2001, Rudy Washington oversaw a wide range of critical agencies including the Department of Business Services, Consumer Affairs, Employment, Parks & Recreation and the New York City Housing Authority. He led the initial search and rescue operations following the September 11th terrorist attacks in New York City.
